The Philodendron Scandens - or Sweetheart Plant - is a striking houseplant and this is mainly due to the beautiful, sturdy leaves. Originally this plant came from the tropical regions of Central and South America, and although the Philodendron is a tropical plant, it does very well in the living room. It also does just fine in a somewhat darker spot in the house, and it's beautiful anywhere! A Philodendron does not need too much water, keep the potting soil moist but not wet.
